Objective:

Instructions:

  1. Set up a designated space as the "Escape Room" with various clues and puzzles related to parts of speech.
  2. Introduce the escape room scenario to the participants, such as "You are trapped in a grammar-themed room and must solve puzzles and riddles to escape."
  3. Explain that the participants will need to apply their knowledge of parts of speech to decipher clues and solve the puzzles within a given time limit.
  4. Divide participants into small groups or pairs and assign each group a designated starting point within the escape room.
  5. Start the timer and let the participants begin the escape room challenge.
  6. Provide written clues or hints that relate to different parts of speech. For example, a riddle that requires identifying a noun, or a puzzle that requires arranging verbs in the correct order.
  7. Encourage participants to communicate and collaborate as they work through the escape room, discussing their ideas and observations.
  8. Offer additional hints or guidance if a group gets stuck or needs assistance.
  9. Allow participants to take notes and write down their findings as they progress through the escape room.
  10. Once a group solves a puzzle or discovers a clue, they can move on to the next challenge within the escape room.
  11. As the groups progress, make sure to observe their understanding and application of different parts of speech.
  12. If a group successfully completes all the puzzles and escapes the room within the given time limit, congratulate them on their achievement.
  13. Gather all participants together to debrief and discuss the parts of speech concepts encountered during the activity.
