The Four Types of Sentences Grammar Quiz for 6th Graders

One of the basic skills in writing is to use appropriate punctuation marks to indicate the type of sentence. There are four main types of sentences: declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. Declarative sentences state a fact or an opinion and end with a period (.). Interrogative sentences ask a question and end with a question mark (?). Imperative sentences give a command or a request and end with a period (.) or an exclamation point (!). Exclamatory sentences express a strong emotion and end with an exclamation point (!).
